Your photographer + gal pal

Hey there! I'm Megan

Have you been looking for LGBTQ Friendly Wedding Venues in Tennessee?

With so many options to choose from, I know it can be hard to make a decision on which one is right for you which is why I wanted to highlight in this blog post one location in particular I want to encourage you to consider.

I recently had the privilege of capturing the beautiful love story between Bebo (they/them) and Monica (she/they) in a stunning witchy forest wedding at this particular wedding venue.

As a Tennessee elopement photographer for queer couples, I’ve had the privilege of capturing beautiful moments at many stunning locations across the state.

However, this venue truly stood out to me, and I believe it’s worth sharing with you in this post as well as showcasing this couple’s beautiful day and emphasizing the importance of inclusive language at an LGBTQ wedding.

So let’s dive in!

LGBTQ-Affirming Wedding Venue in Tennessee

I know how important choosing the right location for your wedding day is and that you want it to feel like a perfect match. After all, this is going to be one of the most special days of your life.

If you want an all-inclusive wedding venue that blends rustic charm and modern elegance, includes delicious food prepared on-site, has helpful and friendly staff, and is truly a perfect location for an LGBTQ-affirming, intimate wedding then Ramble Creek is exactly what you’re looking for.

One of the best things about Ramble Creek is that they are going to simplify so much of the planning process for you with their all-inclusive package and will remove so much stress for you.

Another feature I have to mention is that this venue can also be tailored to any wedding style.

For example, Bebo and Monica wanted to have a witchy forest wedding – so if that’s your vision you can have that as well.

Or perhaps a rustic chic wedding or a fairytale wedding with twinkling lights and gorgeous floral arrangements is more of what you’re envisioning. The great thing about Ramble Creek is that it’s so versatile it will transform into exactly what you’re looking for.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how your wedding day at Ramble Creek could look –

  1. 12:00 pm Wedding Party arrives

  2. 12:30 pm Share lunch

  3. 1:00 pm Wedding Photographer arrives

  4. 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Wedding Party gets ready together

  5. 5:00 pm Ceremony

  6. 5:30 pm Cocktail hour

  7. 6:10 pm Wedding party enters

  8. 6:20 pm Dinner

  9. 7:10 pm Toasts

  10. 7:35 pm First Dance

  11. 7:50 pm Cake cutting

  12. 7:55 pm Dance floor opens

And again to show that Ramble Creek can transform into what you’re dreaming of I wanted to highlight quickly some special features that were included at this witchy forest wedding to inspire you as you plan your own!

Bebo and Monica both wrote their own vows, both wore really fucking cool capes, had a hand-fasting ceremony, had a super cool witchy arbor with a chandelier, read a beautiful poem “Filling Spice Jars as Your Wife”, and they had their send-off with a lavender toss.

This is to give you an idea of what’s also possible for you!

Monica and Bebo wanted to make their wedding day unlike any other and Ramble Creek was the perfect place to make this happen and to fit exactly what they wanted for their witchy forest-themed aesthetic.

Personalizing Your Wedding Day

One thing I loved about Monica and Bebo’s wedding was all of the personal touches they incorporated into their wedding day.

None of their wedding day just felt like a traditional ceremony, everything was intentional and reflected who they both are as they had several little details throughout the wedding that captured and told their love story.

For example, their wedding programs had a crossword on the back for guests which was made by Bebo, and Monica designed the front of the programs. They also DIY’d some of their decor and table settings which brought their witchy, forest vibe to life along with their capes and their witchy arbor chandelier.

All of this is to say as you plan your own wedding don’t be afraid to add your own personal touches to your wedding day whether that looks like making some of your own decor, having a symbolic ritual, or writing your own vows all of these these make your wedding day a true reflection of who you are and tells you and your partner’s love story.

Inclusivity in Language at Your LGBTQ Wedding

It’s incredibly important to make sure that the language you’re using on your wedding day truly reflects your own and your partner’s identities and values.

Bebo and Monica were both comfortable with the terms wives and brides (as well as non-gendered terms) and by knowing and embracing this they were able to have a wedding ceremony that honored who they are as individuals but also reflected who they both are as a couple at their LGBTQ intimate wedding.

The language that they used in their hand-written vows, the ways that guests and staff working the wedding addressed them, and every other aspect of their wedding reflected how they identified themselves and also showed respect for their unique love story.

By having inclusive language in your wedding you are making sure that everyone at the wedding feels seen, respected, and celebrated.

This day for Monica and Bebo wasn’t just a wedding it was also a celebration of their identities. With inclusive language, they created a day that was deeply meaningful, and intentional and honored the journey they’ve both been on.

As a queer person, I understand the importance of feeling seen and respected in traditionally heteronormative spaces.

As your photographer, I’m here to capture more than your special moments – I’m also here to make sure you feel fully supported and celebrated for who you are.

I am committed to supporting my queer clients by respecting their pronouns, advocating for their needs, and creating a safe and affirming environment. I recognize the unique challenges that come with being queer, especially in the wedding industry and particularly in the South and I’m here to stand with you.
